While the gas-turbine combustor has been developed for some time, new emissions regulations are driving the need for the use of cleaner fuels and more advanced combustor technologies. In addition, it is apparent that fuel derived from alternative sources is critical for energy security, and it may be necessary for gas-turbine combustors to accomodate a wider range of hydrocarbon physical and chemical properties.
